This may be a case of teaching grandma to suck eggs
but for any newbies to decoupage, if you want to makes sure that your hard work arrives safetly you could always put bubble wrap over the 'face' of the card before putting it into the envelope, this helps to stop it being 'crushed'. I do this for most of my cards, I also make boxes for some types of card.

I usually make boxes, I feel after spending some time on a card the box sets it off.

I use both of these methods as like you say you spend so much time doing decoupage cards that it would be a shame for them to be ruined in the post

I like to make my own gift boxes too. It's so much cheaper and you came make them co-ordinate perfectly.

I have sent decoupage to the USA, in an ordinary envelope with no padding and it arrived there safe and sound and not squashed at all.
It only had six layers on it though, so maybe with more layers then extra care is needed.

I make boxes for my medallion cards and then put them in bubble pack envelopes aswell as printing Do Not Bend signs and putting them on the back and front of the envelope.

Trouble is all the postal is changing, it will be on size as well as weight in August. Think it will affect bulky cards.
