Glue for ribbon!

Hi -  I have just run out of my Xyron refill for sticking card and ribbon etc! Please would you tell me which is the best glue to use for sticking ribbon without it showing through!  I have an urgent baby boy card to make!

Not sure if this will be much help but when I have used my own  ribbon on a card (I normally use the self adhesive ribbon) I have stuck it on with a good double sided sticky tape rather than a glue

Thanks very much!   I do intend to buy self adhesive ribbon in future!  lol, but for this emergency and ribbon to use - the glue I had showed through when I tried it!

When I first tried  I used a wet glue but it showed through and I didn't like it so that was how I started using the self adhesive ribbon
occasionally I have come across some  ribbon and thought it would look nice on a card I remembered reading a tip somewhere about using a good double sided tape so gave that a go and it was much better than using a glue
