6 INCH SQUARE SYNDROME
« on: March 18, 2006, 05:49:09 PM »
Picture the scene....................house quiet :o day to yourself ;D settle down for a nice bit of cardmaking on a nice tidy table. :D  So why the heck do you end up working in a 6 inch square of space within 10 minutes?? >:( Why did I buy an A3 cutting mat when I only use an A5 sized bit of it??  Please tell me I'm not on my own here.  Am I just that untidy?

I don't need to picture the scene i live in it. My 7yr old grandaughter shares my craft room, the other day i went in and couldn't believe what she had done, without being asked she had taken it upon herself to tidy up. I wondered if she was trying to tell me something bless her little cotton socks, hence i couldn't find a thing and i am still looking for some things.

I'm so pleased it's not just me then, but still no-one has explained why!! :D
Ha! Been there done that Pixie ;)  First place I check now is grandaughters bits and pieces.  Usually find some of my "posh" stuff lurking with hers. :o

BarbD ... I think you are just boasting ... 6 INCHES??? - what luxury ... I end up with about 2 inches and most of the stuff does a *lemming* and jumps off the end. Still ... not everyone gets to glitter their toes on a regular basis! ;D

Sorry, I really wasn't boasting, honest :( It might be less.....I measured in silly stuff and then quoted proper stuff.  Can't cope with all this foreign measuring.

Hi there BarbD, thanks for your reply to me earlier re night time crafting. I laughed when I read about your six inches of work space as I have ordered a new (huge) dining room table because mine is only a miniscule five foot by three foot and all my stuff keeps falling off the end ! I hope the furniture people give me plenty of warning before they turn up as it will probably take days to clear my stuff off ...lol    MaggieB :)

You're lucky I only have a small table and have to share it with my two daughters as they won't let me craft alone when they're not at school.  :)

You're probably right Pixie.  Either that or I'm just to lazy to get up and put one thing away before getting another out.  Takes too much time when you are on a roll with ideas ;)Lubilu......now who's boasting?? ;D ;D Five foot by three foot.....I wish!  I'm one end of a 3ft6 by 2ft6 :(  Gets cleared everytime we want to eat :-[

I started off on the dining room table, then spilled over into the lounge, so we cleared out the spare room and I moved up here, But I still only have a space about the same size as you to work on :) :), The rest of the house is really tidy, but my work room, no chance, I say its because I am so creative :) :)

Hi Sue G.....I started out doing craft on a tray but little did I know it would become an obssession. The reason I have such a big table is because we all craft when the grand children come round (and there are a lot of them !) They love going home with their bits and pieces. And I get to buy more stuff cos they take all my posh bits....ha ha
I hope youve had a good day SueG....Regards Maggie B

Hi everyone just  had the giggles reading about the 6inches  remember its not the size what matters its what you do either with it or in it that counts
;D ;D ;D mind you its easy for me to say hubbys just bought me a six foot yes i did say six foot summer house to do my crafting in but i still end up in a tiny square by the time i have decided what to make, i
swear one of these days hubby will find me under the ever growing mountain of stuff, you may start with a few inches but beware it will take over  every coner of the house til it spills into the shed, garage and anywhere else you can find its so addictive, i think we should set up the crafters annonymous ::)

Well now Piggin, isn't that odd!  The 2 foot we start crafting in soon turns to 6 inches, but the 2foot we start storing stuff in soon becomes a whole room full.  Bizarre eh?!? ::)
