I use glossy photography paper. You can get it cheap if you look around.

I get mine from the Pound shops. You can either get 10 or 15 for £1. Not bad eh!
I think its ideal for card making. Worth a try anyway! Happy crafting!

I use glossy photo paper too (also sometiimes satin finish - not so glossy)
or there is a varnish you can use which gives a glossy finish to your work
It is available in the shop here if you haven't seen it and want to take a look here is the link

I have used the varnish before (not this one as they didn't have it in the shop here when I got mine) and I quite like the effect
Hope this is of some help to you

Likewise,I always use a heavier gloss photo card. Was never happy with results before and seldom did any decoupage, now I love doing them.
Did try clear nail varnish over the plain paper and that helped a bit.

If you have a Netto anywhere near you then they do a 'The Write Way' premium glossy inkjet photo paper at £2.99 for 50 A4 sheets which is suitable for inkjey printers. It's fantastic and it dries really really quickly too previous cheapo papers I've had to use a heat gun on to dry but this is great.
