Hi

I'm just wondering why do most designs seem to be round, square, or rectangle  for glass painting

I've got quite a few aperture cards which are oval and I thought I'd do some glass painting on acetate and put it in them but I'm having trouble finding oval designs  the only ones I've come across are a couple of easter egg ones so I'm doing those for a couple of easter cards for people but other than that I'm not having much luck

Any suggestions..........

Hi Janet,

I think the pieces of glass which people work on are mainly those shapes however I know there are some large and small oval design set which Alan and Barry do. Don't think they've worked their way over to this site  yet but you will find them at
http://www.glasspaintingmaterials.co.uk/shop/designs-index.asp

They are still going to be too large for you but there is no reason why you can't scan and shrink them.

Hi Bob

Thanks for a quick reply, It is appreciated.

I did think after I'd posted the message it was a bit of a silly question as most glass is square or rectangle, some round so in a way it was pretty obvious,
I was thinking of other objects to be painted as well also with the self adhesive film and acetates there would be more options for painting,
I've just followed your link and had a look I saw the designs you suggested (shame there are no pictures )
I noticed there are small oval ones  and large oval ones  do you know roughly what size the small oval ones are?
Thanks for your help.

They are 6" high by 4" wide. Obviously Barry was worried about putting pics on coz people would just copy them  :-[

If you want completely different shapes do a search on google for "stained glass designs free" (without the quotes and you will get some great stuff up.

Thanks once again Bob    will do!

I understand about Barry not wanting to put the pics on   - it's just nice to see them and you don't always think people do copy these things
