 ???

I really want to learn how to crochet – mainly squares so I can sew them together and make blankets.
 
I can knit – but can’t follow knitting instructions at all, and use all my resources for teaching the Special Ed classes I have as well as me.
 
I need simple easy to follow childlike instructions – I learnt to knit (and teach) from a children’s book and it worked well.
 
So does anyone know of a really really easy children’s type of book introducing how to crochet squares?
 
I have searched the internet at no avail and craft shops look at me mad and say children don’t want to learn how to crochet (well why did they want to learn how to knit – as it’s a children’s knitting book by Klutz I have already got).

Dont know of any childrens book i learnt from the Woolcraft booklet, by Patons and Baldwins, aprox. 25 years ago...

I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY CHILDRENS BOOKS I TO LEARNT FROM THE WOOLCRAFT BOOK.

i no how you feel. i took me age's to learn but can still only do the basic's. i will try and write it down in a way that you may be able to follow. but if it reads back to confussing i will call it a day. but i will also look on the net and see if i can find any thing. untill then. can you make a start chain. if so just keep pulling the wool through and make a long chain. you will get the feel of the hook that way.

If you go on the Google search engine and just type in crochet patterns. You will come up with a good few sites. Go on the second one you see and they show pattern squares etc. I used to crochet years ago but my eyes aren't too good now.

I learnt from my Grandmother and I taught two people I work with how to crochet babies booties, they were really thrilled with them, once you get the basics I found following paterns easy, I managed to do a few shawls for babies and they were always so well received.

I was taught how to do basic crochet as a child, but when I lost part of my left first index finger when I was 17,  I found I couldn't crochet anymore, it has taken my until now (40 years of age) to get the corage and give it a go, I can only do basic and have crochet the 2 girls dolls blankets but I still try
