Parchment craft

Does anyone do Parchment craft ?I would like to hear your comments i am totally hooked on this craft .I know it it tme consuming but the end result is beautiful.  .

Hi Pixie,
I've bought a few things to learn Parchment craft as like you I think it's beautiful.
Unfortunately I work fulltime and learning a new technique gets be behind with my cardmaking. Will have to get ahead this week (on hols at home) so that I can have a go.

I have bought two DVD.s and all the bits, promised i.d take time to do it in the winter, but only had a little practise so far, it is really lovely but takes patience!!

I brought a parchemnt kit started having fun playing with then found I ws prgeant with my 5th child, and could stand the smell of the tinta, couldn't sit very comfortable, ince then had a little girl who is now just over 18 months old, and no I still haven't had the chance to have a go at it. Every time I try to make time something else pops else, like Katherine is ried and wants a cuddle and that's it another goes past. Hoping to have a go in the next few months, especxially when the kids are at home to keep katherine amused

I love Parchment Craft and I used to think I would never get into it if I had to keep leaving it to do summat else, but now, I just use it as a relaxation tool. I do ordinary cards for everyone else and I get to keep my Parchment work!  Yeah!!!

Hello Pixie, I love parchment craft too.  I usually only make these cards for "special" people and occasions because it is so time consuming, but the end result makes it all worth while.  Have you checked out Alan and Barry's video with Wendy Walters showing her parchment CDs?  I definitely feel Alan and Barry have found a future star for their craft web site.  I've bought all three CDs so I'll be having a lovely time working my way through the designs. Wishing you many hours of happy parchment crafting.  Linda

Hi Lyndamac Wendy Walters is my craft tutor love every minute of it, there is always somthing new to learn I've known her for a few years now, so i know you will have a lovely time with her cd's.

Love parchment cards, am getting quite good at it too. First got into it seeing C&C and Christine Colman but am going to look at the videos of Wendy Walters as I now want something a bit different.  I love doing lacework and 3D best but it keeps you occupied as there are so many different things to do on one card.  Takes a time though, but I leave it on a craft board and pick it up every night while watching TV, treat it as though I am knitting really do a bit of it every night

I find that I have so much patience when I'm doing Parchment work these days.  If I make a mistake with the gridwork (normal for me!) I just cut around the main design and either use it as a 3D element or put it onto another card.  Nothing is ever wasted , is it?

I make parchment cards for all family members - the more you make the better you become - I also cut round ones I mess up and use on other cards - but find I am messing up less and less - have made 3 cards from the new Wendy Walters cds on this site

I really will have to try the new CD's.  The designer one looks good.  Have you noticed how adventurous you become the more you do?  I have used my stamped images, A & B's Motif Libraries, etc and they are working out quite well. My only problem in doing that is that I tend to go a bit wonky with the corners.  They never seem to be quite level.  Any idea's on how to line them up correctly?
