Cleaning Sticky Scissors

You can use any essential oils to clean up scissors which have got sticky from all that double sided tape, foam etc.

Put a couple of drops on a tissue and wipe over the scissors, the glue will melt away.  I've tried lavender, tea tree and eucalyptus - all work well but lavender smells the best. You can get these oils from Asda and Boots.

You will need to wipe over the scissors with a damp cloth and also wash your hands after so you don't get the oil on your cards.

Happy Crafting,
Ali xx

Thanks for this tip it helped me after I posted on the Forum.

Tried it last night and it works great. I am making it a regular Saturday night job, with the Lavendar oil and a glass of red wine I was really chilled out.

Great tip oscarfelixjake

Sticky Stuff Remover from Betterware works really well or nail varnish remover, but sticky stuff remover smells much better.
I have lost track of the times I have cleaned my scissors but still have loads left and it was only £3, and can be used on so many others surfaces as well

Hope it helps

tried the essential oils tip while packing up, works really well, but need to be careful if pregnant, certain oils shouldn't be touched while pregnant. Smells really good .

Welcome maryclarea, congrats on you first post.

I must admit my one pair of non stick scissors dont get to clogged up, but they ar small and tend to use them more for small cutting.

I bought some  non stick scissors - not cheap but they are good.  Anything that does stick you just rub off.  pm me if you want the make.

You can get a square eraser from Hobbycraft for removing sticky stuff or better still get some X-cut non-stick scissors as I find them very good although pricey (but they are worth it)
