Title: Recycled materials
Post by: DogGroomer on December 26, 2006, 12:13:19 AM
Hi,
I use a lot of recycled materials in my card making and I would like to share a few ideas.
There are usually areas of plain colour on packing boxes, cereal boxes, gift boxes. These are great in the sizzix machine or make good backgrounds for toppers. Wrapping paper makes great background paper. Old eyeshadow makes brilliant chalk. The expanded foam packaging sheets are great for stamping out snowflakes and accept glitter glues well.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

Great to see your ideas.

Its amazing what can be achieved with a little  "lateral thinking"

Some years ago I Applied for a job as a manager at Sheffield Scrap Store.

Whilst researching the subject (ont tinternet ;) ) i became aware of a massive national movement of "scrapstores".    These are usually voluntary/semi commercial organisations, funded or otherwise, set up to gather together unwanted overproduction offcuts etc.

This is then made available to schools, groups etc (for a nominal payment usually) for the kids to do the old "Blue Peter " routine

Enjoy your crafting
