First attempt at parchment. Some detail not shown up, such as pricking in clear areas of bonnet and frill. Also swirly bits pricked out among ribbons. Scan also hasn't picked up 2 holes and scratchy marks, for once the scanner has improved on the real thing!!!

Base card already had butterflies and flowers embossed onto it. I chalked them and added glitter glue here and there. Central butterflies are made of velum and pre embossed, I cut them out and added glitter glue to wings. Finished off with pastel peeloffs.
Hasn't scanned well, colours are very pretty in real life everything looks very yellowy here.

A gatefold card - opening down the middle with the watering can half on the left side.
It made me very sad making this card. A good friend of mine who I've worked with for 6 years was another 'victim' of the restructuring. After working for local authorities for 30 years she's now out of work.

I shall miss her greatly - she's been a shoulder for me to cry on during a very trying 18 months.

3D peel off stuck to acetate then coloured with crystal lacquers, cut out and layered.
Made it for my youngest sister's birthday. We're going through a rough time of it as a family, but I don't think this will make things better for her.

This is a Mothers' Day card I made for my nephew to give to his mam (my youngest sister). He's 11 and has autism. When my sister nearly died 2 years age he was taken into Foster care and she hasn't been allowed to have him back. I haven't seen him for 18 months - the foster mother makes out he's difficult to handle after seeing the family (could it be because he misses us?  ::))

Cards for Joanie and Papjoe's birthdays:

The idea for Joanie's card just came out of the blue. Flowers are designed using Wings and Butterflies CD.
As Papajoe came to Wisley I thought it would be appropriate to use wrapping paper I bought there. The silver mirri card reflected in the scannercausing it to distort.

On the same day as Uncle's 80th birthday it was their 60th wedding anniversary. We had a huge celebration with us all staying in a large rented property for a few days. I made decorations for the dining room - bunting and paper roses for the tables. I didn't get a photo of the bunting hanging up but the first photo is of the pieces laid down ready for the string to be attached.

Title: Re: Nuttycluster
Post by: nuttycluster on June 29, 2021, 04:50:27 PM
For Michael's 59th birthday I decided to make a 3d item rather than a card. He loved feeding the garden birds so this was really appropriate for him.
It was the last birthday card I made for him as he passed away 2 months before his 60th.
The last photo was some funny captioned cards I made for him. They were made after we'd been told he was terminally ill. I knew there'd be tough days ahead and wanted something to give them to him to make him smile on bad days. Sadly I never got to give him any as his health rapidly worsened.

A wedding card for a friend of my niece. They'd had to delay the wedding because of the pandemic so it was rearranged for August but they were only allowed a limited number of guests. I wanted to design a card in a similar style to their original wedding invites which had a rainbow on. Apparently a rainbow has a biblical connection of hope and promise and the bride and groom are both Christians. I designed the card in Serif Craft Artist, printed it out and then mat and layered the seven colours of the rainbow.
I found some rainbow coloured bunting online and made two long strands of bunting to hang between the church pillars.

And the last one is a birthday card for my next door neighbour's daughter. She's into punk/goth. She liked the card so much she framed it and has it up in her bedroom. It's going to be hard to beat this card in 2021!
